Principles of Structural Integration PSI318 (30 hours, 2.5 units)

This class introduces students to the founding principles of Structural Integration as originally developed by Dr. Ida P. Rolf. Working with the fascial system, using touch, movement and awareness, students begin learning to optimally organize physical structure in relationship to gravity. Through lecture, demonstration, hands-on practice, and movement research students will learn, both conceptually and experientially, about balanced, integrated function. Students will begin learning how to visually assess body structure in order to select hands-on contacts that maximally support their client’s specific needs. Students will also obtain a plethora of contacts that apply the foundational principles in order to effectively assist their clients to begin unfolding the well being, grace and ease of movement that Structural Integration offers.
