Communication I: Client-Centered Communications COMM305-I (15 hours, 1.5 units)
This introductory course in communication techniques for bodyworkers focuses on developing communication intention and skills to increase healing client relationships. Particular attention is placed on understanding and practicing effective skills for listening and sending, specifically as they relate to client communication. A model for self-clarity in communication is used to maximize impact on both the practitioner and client. Professional ethics in client issues is also explored and students create their own personal Code of Ethics.
Path of Study: Core Class
Prerequisite: Contemporary Methods of Massage & Bodywork Group B (Clinical Applications I CMB-1, Sensory Repatterning – CMB-2, and Somatic Psychology – CMB-3)
