To ensure timely processing of your financial aid applications, IPSB has the following timeline:
- FAFSA completion by student (and parent if necessary) – 5 days prior to start date
- Sign up for and Enroll in program (with Admissions Dept.) – 4 days prior to start date
- Complete Financial Aid interview forms (with Financial Aid Dept.) – 3 days prior to start date
If unable to meet deadlines, special arrangements may be available through the finance office.” Students may also choose to start classes on a later available start date.
# 1 (First Apply for a Personal Identification Number (PIN)
Apply for a Personal Identification Number (PIN) at www.pin.ed.gov – be sure to write down your four-digit PIN as this will be used to electronically sign your FAFSA online.
#2 (Second Fill out your FAFSA)
To fill out your FAFSA please go to the Federal Student Aid website.

#3 (Third Write down your Expected Family Contribution (EFC) number)
Write down your Expected Family Contribution (EFC) number provided at the end of the FASFA process. You will need this number before you can start your online interview at IPSB’s Virtual Financial Aid Office (VFAO).
# 4 (Second Fill out your Virtual Financial Aid Office (VFAO) )
Apply and complete your Federal Aid Packet today at Virtual Financial Aid Office (VFAO).
The Virtual Financial Aid Office is the online assistance we use to complete your Financial Aid Packet. This is the resource we use to have students complete their financial aid documents in a fast convenient place online. You must register and complete all the documents needed for financial aid.
# 5 (Complete the loan Master Promissory Note (MPN))
Click the link (www.dlenote.ed.gov) to complete the loan Master Promissory Note (MPN) if you are planning on taking out loans as part of your financial aid package.
# 6 (Schedule your enrollment appointment with admissions and financial aid office.)
Schedule your enrollment appointment with admissions and financial aid. Complete admissions paperwork, enrollment agreement, and financial aid documents. (Deadline: 4 business days before first of class.)
