Faiza Al-Turki
, AS, HHP, has a Bachelor Degree in Psychology and an Associate of Science degree in Holistic Health. She started at IPSB in 1999 and has been there ever since. She currently teaches in the Essentials of Massage and Bodywork and Contemporary Methods classes. She is also involved with the Way of the Healer classes and coordinates faculty scheduling for the Essentials and Contemporary Methods classes. In her practice, Ms. Al-Turki uses an eclectic combination of energy work including Cranial Sacral and Shamanic healing with a variety of mainstream modalities including deep tissue, NMT and circulatory to facilitate her client’s healing goals. Ron Arbel, AS, HHP, started his journey at IPSB in 1998. With over 1700 hours he is a primary teacher in Structural Integration and Anatomy. Mr. Arbel maintains a private practice focused on Structural Integration and human movement potential. Jack Baker, BA, MA, HHP, holds a Master’s degree in Somatic Education from IPSB, a Bachelor’s in English from UCSB, and has completed over 1,500 hours of training in Massage and Bodywork at IPSB. He began teaching at IPSB in 1990 and is a primary instructor for Neuromuscular Therapy, Anatomy, Dialogue Methods, and Dynamics of Personal Learning – Intro. Barbara Clark, BS, MA, HHP, is a Taoist Priest and holds a Master’s in Somatic Education from IPSB, a Bachelor’s in Accounting and Business from Metropolitan State College in Denver, Colorado, and is a Holistic Health Practitioner of Asian Arts with well over 2,000 hours of bodywork training. Ms. Clark began teaching business classes and then developed Jin Shin Acutouch, which she has taught since 1978, and has written several books on the subject, including Jin Shin Acutouch for Others. Kristina Eberle, HHP, is a licensed Holistic Health Practitioner specializing in Traditional Thailand Massage. She began her bodywork training at IPSB in 1991 and studied Thai Massage with Dr. Richard Gold. She has a private practice and teaches Thai Massage and Yoga at various venues. John Economos, Ph.D., HHP, GCFT, is a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Teacher, a member of the International Association of Structural Integrators, certified in the Traditional Medical Massage of Thailand, has studied Tui Na and Chi Gung in Beijing, China and served on the staff of the Gero-Psychiatric Ward of Mission Bay Hospital. Marjeanne Estes
, AA, BS, HHP, holds an Associate’s degree in Combined Methods from IPSB, and a Bachelor’s in Pharmacy from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Ms. Estes teaches Deep Tissue Sculpting and Anatomy. She has a growing practice specializing in deep tissue sculpting, pregnancy massage and somato-emotional integration. Ms. Estes can be reached at mestes@ipsb.edu.

Duffy Fainer, attended IPSB and is a practitioner of Yang and Chen Styles of Tai Chi. Mr. Fainer has been practicing Psychoclisthenics as a participant in the Arica Institute and its trainings since 1975. Mr. Fainer can be reached at dfainer@ipsb.edu.

Becky Frazier, L.Ac., Dipl.Ac., MTOM, Dipl.Ayur.Sc., AHP, ABT, PKS, is a licensed Acupuncturist, Ayurvedic Practitioner and Massage Therapist.  After completing her massage training (1989), she studied Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, receiving her Master’s degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (1993).  She is Nationally Board Certified in Acupuncture and has maintained a private practice in San Diego.  In 2006, she began her Ayurvedic studies with the all-Indian faculty at Kerala Ayurveda Academy and holds a diploma in Ayurvedic Sciences.  She holds certificates in Ayurvedic Body Therapies and in Pancha Karma.  Her private practice also includes Sound Therapy (Tuning Forks/Acutonics training), Aromatic Botanical Medicine (Aromatherapy training with David Crow) and Energy Healing (training with Barbara Brennan).  Ms. Frazier brings the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda to IPSB.  Ms. Frazier can be reached at bfrazier@ipsb.edu.

Shari Grayson
, BA, MBA, HHP, has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UCLA and a Master of Business Administration from the University of San Diego. She has also completed the Holistic Health Practitioner program at IPSB. She began teaching at IPSB in 1994 and currently teaches Essentials of Massage & Bodywork, Clinical Applications, Creating a Professional Practice, Seated Massage, and Pregnancy Massage. She is Faculty Coordinator for the Massage Therapy and Holistic Health Practitioner programs, and leads the teacher training program. Her private practice focuses on corporate chair massage at several local companies and working with pregnant clients. She offers an eclectic blend of massage styles. Richard Gold, Ph.D., L.Ac., has been practicing Asian Healing Arts since his 1978 graduation from the New England School of Acupuncture, and has been a licensed acupuncturist since 1983. Dr. Gold has been teaching at IPSB since 1980 and has done advanced studies in China (1980), Japan (1986) and Thailand (1988, 1989, 1992). Dr. Gold is the author of the book, ‘Thai Massage: A Traditional Medical Technique” first published in 1988 by Churchill Livingstone and with a 2nd edition published in 2007. Calvin H. Iona
, AS, BA, received his Associate’s degree in Police Science and Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Police Science. Mr. Iona joined IPSB as a part-time student in 1992 and, upon completion of his military career, became a full-time student in 1996 where he completed specialized studies in sports massage, Neuromuscular Therapy, Seitai Shiatsu, and Traditional Thailand Massage. He also completed a specialized study of Tui Na at the Taoist Sanctuary of San Diego and at IPSB. In 1997, Mr. Iona completed the Teacher Training program and currently is an assistant teacher in the Essentials, Contemporary Methods, and Asian Healing Arts programs. Elizabeth Jacobowitz, MA, HHP, holds a Master’s degree in Expressive Arts Therapy from the European Graduate School, as well as a Bachelor’s in Health and Exercise Science from Syracuse University. She studied massage and bodywork at IPSB, accumulating more than 1,200 hours of training and specialization in Sports Massage, Sensory Repatterning, Relational Somatics, and Somato-emotional Integration. Ms. Jacobowitz teaches classes in introductory bodywork, integrative somatics, and self-care for helping profes- sionals. Janis Johnson, BA, MA, HHP, holds a Master’s degree in Education and a Bachelor’s degree in History and Theater. She is also certified in Expressive Arts Therapy. Ms. Johnson has been teaching at the university level since 1975. She has taught at Indiana University and University of California at San Diego. At IPSB, she teaches Deep Tissue Sculpting, The Moving Soma, Jin Shin Acutouch, Advanced Deep Tissue Techniques and various seminars. Skip Kanester, AS, HHP, has been teaching at IPSB since 1990. He is presently the faculty coordinator of the Asian Healing Arts path and is a primary instructor of Tuina, Seitai Shiatsu, and Aromatherapy. He has trained in Tuina with Dr. Xue Yin Xian and Professor Huang Jin Huai of Beijing and has worked and studied with Bill Helm, one of the leading authorities on Tuina massage in this country, since 1989. Mr. Kanester received his certification in Seitai Shiatsu from Dr. Richard Gold in 1989 and was certified as an instructor of traditional Thai massage through the Buntautuk Traditional Hospital, Chaing Mai, Thailand in 1991. In 2003, Mr. Kanester was certified by the Taoist Sanctuary in San Diego to teach Tuina massage to all levels of students. Mr. Kanester can be reached at skanester@ipsb.edu.

Erin Kinoshita, AA, HHP, has a formal education that began at Imperial College in London, England, where she majored in Humanities.  She attended IPSB in San Diego, California from 2000 through 2003, where she specialized in Spa Therapies and Aromatherapy.  She has a private practice since 2000, and is currently teaching the healing benefits of several spa therapies.  Ms. Kinoshita can be reached at ekinoshita@ipsb.edu.

Clark Korb, HHP, MEng, BSEE, earned his Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering at UC-San Diegoand a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Montana State University-Bozeman. He cameto IPSB after seven years’ experience in the corporate world working as a design engineer seeking greaterprofessional satisfaction and overall life balance. He now enjoys a value-aligned career as an entrepreneur,professional networker, educator, and holistic health practitioner. His primary intention in each of theseroles is to propagate a prosperity consciousness for the healing and betterment of other practitioners, clients,and society as whole. Jason Lewis
is a practicing California CMT and is a member of the ABMP and is nationally certified.  Specializing in deep myofascial relief, he does deep tissue sculpting, Rossiter and modified deep tissue work.  An IPSB graduate of the AS program, he’s worked at various spas, chiropractic clinics, therapeutic programs, and has his own business.  He has taught a comprehensive massage therapy course and assisted in the Essentials class.  Mr. Lewis can be reached at jlewis@ipsb.edu.

Cara Lockwood, AS, HHP, NCBTMB-CMT, is a graduate of IPSB. Ms. Lockwood currently is an assistant instructor in the Essentials of Massage and Bodywork course, CranioSacral Therapy I and II, and a continuity coordinator in Contemporary Methods A. Ms. Lockwood’s private practice is primarily focused in CranioSacral Therapy and integrates it with Neuromuscular Therapy and Deep Tissue sculpting. Edward W. Maupin, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist and board certified Structural Integrator who has practiced the Rolf Method of Structural Integration since 1968. A resident of the Esalen Institute in Big Sur from 1966-1970, he worked personally with such masters as Ida Rolf, Fritz Perls, Mary Whitehouse and others. He has studied the methods of the Arica Institute since 1970. President of IPSB from 1977-2001, he is now, upon occasion, President-Emeritus. Dr. Maupin has authored a number of books, including Body Epiphany and A Dynamic Relation to Gravity, a manual of Rolf Structural Integration. Dr. Maupin can be reached at emaupin@ipsb.edu.

Barbara Miller, BA, CMT, HHP,
has been with IPSB since 2005 when she started her HHP program. She graduated in 2010 with a specialization in Traditional Thai Massage. She is a primary instructor for Community Outreach and Clinical Applications 1. She has assisted in Table Thai, LomiLomi, Essentials of Bodywork, and Contemporary A. Maya Montoya, CMT, began her studies at IPSB in 2005, and has accumulated over 1,200 hours of training specializing in Traditional Thailand Massage. She has a private practice and teaches in all of the Thai Massage classes at IPSB. Tammy Morgan, BA, MT, received her Bachelors degree in English with an emphasis in British Literature at SDSU. She began her studies at IPSB in 1997, where she soon found her passion for massage and bodywork within the Circulatory Massage and Deep Tissue Sculpting modalities. Ms. Morgan currently teaches within the Essentials course, which allows her to share her passion for bodywork with students, while keeping her grounded and in beginner’s mind. Chris Okuma
,  BA, HHP, NCBTMB, graduated from UCSD with a BA in Visual Arts and received an AA in Somatics/AHA (Combined Methods) from IPSB with over 2,000 hours of training. She studied with the Upledger Institute in both Craniosacral Therapy (CST) and SER, and in an Adv. CST study group. She is a Usui Reiki Master, a primary instructor in Somatic Assimilation, The Way of the Healer and CranioSacral Therapy I and II.  Her private practice continues to intuitively evolve and deepen with a focus on Craniosacral and Somato-Emotional Integrative therapies. Carole Osborne, BA, HHP, is one of the original founders of IPSB. She is author of Deep Tissue Sculpting (1991,2002) and Pre- and Perinatal Massage Therapy (1998), and she recently contributed to the upcoming book, Teaching Massage Therapy. She began her private practice in 1974 and continues to focus on maternity and other women’s issues and on somato-emotional integration. Her certification workshop, “Pre- and Perinatal Massage Therapy”, is an internationally recognized program. At IPSB, Ms. Osborne is a primary teacher of Passive Joint/Deep Tissue Blends, Pregnancy Massage Introduction and Somato-emotional Integration specializa- tion. Kathy Padecky, AS, HHP, Aromatherapist, Certified Biofeedback Specialist (CBS), began working in the holistic health field in 1981 and teaches various massage modalities, aromatherapy, reflexology, spa techniques, heated stone, hydrotherapy, Raindrop Technique ©, aromatherapy and aura-imaging, plus healing with crystals and essential oils. Ms. Padecky is a CBS and received her aromatherapy training at American College of Healthcare Sciences in Oregon. Ms. Padecky can be reached at kpadecky@ipsb.edu.

Diana Panara, MSW, HHP, NCBTMB, is an IPSB graduate and holds a master’s degree from Tulane University. A somatic practitioner since 1974, she began teaching with IPSB in 1980. She remains enchanted with the Essentials course, and also teaches at the specialization level. The Way of the Healer introduces her work, and the specialization Relational Somatics gives an in depth exploration of this particular weave of somatic technique and spiritual psychology. Andrea Peinado
, BA, HHP, graduated from SDSU in 1997 with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a minor in U.S. History. In 2000, she began her studies in massage and has over 1,000 hours of training from IPSB and Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. Her specialization is Neuromuscular Therapy, and she has an eclectic private practice focusing on stress reduction, injury recovery, and pain relief. Charlene Penner, M.D., graduated with a Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Saskatchewan in 1976. Since then, she has studied nutrition and many forms of movement and massage therapy, which she currently practices. She also creates and performs Butoh Ritual Dance and Contact Improvisation. For Dr. Penner, daily living habits of eating, rest, posture, exercise, and chemical product usage are at the root of many illnesses in America. Jessica Radulovich
, BFA, HHP, is a Holistic Health Practitioner and Board Certified Structural Integrator CM. Ms. Radulovich maintains a Somatic Bodywork practice in North San Diego County. Ms. Radulovich studied Structural Integration with Dr. Ed Maupin, and teaches Structural Integration with Dr. Maupin at IPSB. Her work supports the unfolding of our boundless being through an expansionally balanced body.    She is also a graduate of the Pathwork Transformation Program. Since 1994 she has been practicing and teaching Somatic Movement, including Yoga, Authentic Movement and Postmodern Dance. Joel Sheposh
, BA, LMT, has been a massage therapist since 1993, graduating from IPSB with a specialization in Asian Healing Arts. Today, he splits his time between Thailand and the United States. Mr. Sheposh developed Table ThaiTM Massage and, since 1998, has taught classes in the Thai Healing Arts to massage schools, spas and resorts throughout the country. In Thailand, he studies and practices the Thai Healing Arts, Buddhism and meditation. Gloria Sobol, moved into the field of Body Therapy with 30+ years of technical experience in manufacturing technology/aerospace. Desiree Sterling, L.Ac, DiplOM, MS, AS, HHP, has been in the field of massage therapy since 1998 when she received her certification from Shirley Price International College of Aromatherapy.  She has had training in acupuncture from the Nanjing University in China and graduated fromthe Norwegian College of Acupuncture in 2002.  She has also had formal training in Physical Therapy from Oslo, Norway in 1995.  She received her Master’s of Science from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in 2005, and was California licensed in 2006.  She is a nationally certified Diplomat of Oriental Medicine from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.  In 2008, she received an Associate of Science from IPSB, with a specialization in Neuromuscular Therapy.  Some of her training also includes functional endocrinology and functional blood chemistry.  Ms. Sterling provides treatments combining acupuncture with several bodywork modalities such as Circulatory Massage, Deep Tissues, NMT, Pregnancy Massage, Sensory Repatterning, Tuina and Acupressure.  She provides Chinese herbal medicine and Western nutritional supplementations.  She helps her patients overcome their health conditions enabliming them to engage in their own healing process.  She uses gentle treatments and believes in the natural healing process of the body.  She also offers functional blood chemistry panels and salivary hormone panels for her patients.  In addition to teaching at IPSB, Ms. Sterling currently works as a massage therapist at a spa and runs her own private practice in Hillcrest.  Ms. Sterling can be reached at dsterling@ipsb.edu.

James Stewart, BA, HHP, is an IPSB graduate who has a degree in psychology from UCSC with a minor in philosophy and facilitates workshops in imaginal education [dreamwork and imaginal development]. A student of Milton Trager, Mr. Stewart has been an instructor at IPSB since 1980 and has had a bodywork practice since 1977. He is a primary instructor in the Essentials and Contempo- rary Methods bodywork courses. He developed the Sensory Repatterning bodywork technique and teaches the Sensory Repatterning Specialization. Ariel Talmor, BA, is a certified Reflexologist, healer, and metaphysical teacher. He practices and teaches holistic foot reflexology, using the feet as gateway to all levels of the human experience. Mr. Talmor can be reached at atalmor@ipsb.edu.

Lavonne Thompson has a Bachelor’s of Science and a Master’s in Education. Ms. Thompson has studied Tai Chi Chuan with Master Abraham Liu and has had advanced training with various Masters in the National Qigong Association. Ms. Thompson has been teaching QiGong and Tai Chi Chuan for over 10 years at suchlocations such as The Taoist Sanctuary of San Diego. Ms. Thompson can be reached at lthompson@ipsb.edu.

Marcy Worthington, MS, BA, began teaching at IPSB in January 2010. She was first exposed to holistic health concepts, massage and meditation as a child, through her parents and a grandfather who was an osteopathic physician. Ms. Worthington, who has a Master’s of Science degree in forensic science and a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in behavioral science, teaches for IPSB as well as for other colleges and has been on many Master’s thesis committees. She teaches research classes, Strategies for Life, Living, and Career, and has taught Communications I for IPSB.
