Associate of Science Degree

 
 



The Associate of Science Degree program includes all the course work required for the Massage Therapy and Holistic Health Practitioner certificate programs.  This Associate of Science in Holistic Health compares to other associate programs in length, content, and difficulty. 


Programmatic Objectives:


  1. 1.To support an exceptional career and life-long learning with advanced training in a bodywork specialization. 

  2. 2.To establish educational competency in math, writing, and oral communication on both state and national levels. 

  3. 3.To provide a curriculum that blends academic coursework with experiential learning and somatic awareness of the body/mind integration.

  4. 4.To qualify graduates to become somatic educators in addition to practicing therapists.


To enter this program, students must successfully complete the 600 hour Massage Therapist Program.  Students have the option of being concurrently enrolled in the HHP Program while enrolled in the Associate of Science Degree.  This entire A.S. program, including Essentials of Massage and Bodywork, the Massage Therapy and Holistic Health Practitioner programs, can be completed by full-time students within 9 quarters, by three-quarter-time students within 12 quarters and by half-time students within 18 quarters.


Upon satisfactory completion of the training, graduates will be qualified as self-employed private practice therapists and as advanced level practitioners in spas, health clinics, medical offices, chiropractic offices, hotels and resorts.
